As part of the Passionswege project of Vienna Design Week the collection of vases and table lamps reinterprets the porcelain and glass making tradition of Augarten Wien, one of the Europe’s oldest companies dating back to 1718. Since the very beginning, this Austrian enterprise has been working with high-quality porcelain, specialized in handcrafted production and painting. We were inspired by this rich tradition and chose a table lamp as a starting object for the project. Its form recalls Augarten classics and uses the techniques and materials of the porcelain manufactory and hand-blown glass. We enabled Viennese handicraft tradition to radiate through a contemporary light source that combines these two materials in an experimental way.
